Gee Otis, I Don't Know What a Baloban is Either

What to Expect... says Otis is too young to be read to. I say to hell with the book. (Rejoicing from the forces of "ignore child care books.") It is impossible to be too young to enjoy a book, and he definitely does, even if enjoyment consists of staring at the pictures and slapping them as hard as possible.

If you search at the better stores, they sell kids' books with text in Kazakh, Russian, and English. We've bought a couple and are on the look out for more. This one is about animals. (A baloban is apparently some sort of hunting bird. We could ask Amanda when we get home.) I am looking forward to reading these with Vincent and Anastasia so that we can do the harder Russian words (e.g. not crocodile, which, in Russian, is..... crocodeel.)
