I Changed Three Diapers Today
That makes a grand total of, let's see, three. I'm sure in the days ahead I will lose count. This is a rare picture of Otis sleeping peacefully in his crib. I'm sure my sister Karen is chuckling to herself as she reads this, Mel too.

My God! Put some socks on that baby! Do you want him to freeze to death?
So, David, is he or isn't he?
I posted yesterday, but forgot to sign, and don't want you to think I haven't been SO happy for you. I'm thrilled, and can't wait to meet Otis. All my love, Lisa
Yes, that comment does deserve an indulgent chuckle, along with a tear or 2 of happiness for all of you.
I didn't realize till I was in the midst of it all that part of the sleep deprivation comes from not being to take your eyes off of them, even when they're asleep and you should be...
Dear Candace and David,
Oh Boy - Little O's come home! You're doing the Mom and Dad thing full time. It seems like it all happened so fast.
He is soooo beautiful, stretched out in his crib. And when he's awake, doing kisses for Mommy & Daddy. What a little honey.
It makes sense that Otis is hyper-aware; except for your familiar and loving faces, everything else in his world is utterly brand new to him. Skeery, you bet. Hang tight as all three of you adapt to these long-awaited circumstances. Soon things will settle down and everyone will get some sleep. Very soon after that you'll be headed home to friends, family and lots of support.
Take good care of your selves.
Loretta
