Santa's Little Helper

Santa's Little Helper

For those of you who did not understand that I was kidding the last time I wrote about schedule (including our mysterious Anonymous – the one who is not Lisa incognito)… The schedule that appears workable depends only on:

  • David’s and my both being able to work from home all the time and never having to go to the office or on a business trip
  • David’s and my unwavering commitment to discussing in detail our respective wishes for “alone time,” as well as, of course, our schedule for actually doing work during the day and limiting all those times to no more than 30 minute increments (thus, no endless blog posts)
  • Obsessively planning our grocery shopping
  • Bruno instantly understanding that he has to adapt to the schedule
  • Not having to deal with airplanes and time zone changes in the near future

Assuming all those conditions are met, we have no problem. We have the perfect schedule worked out.

Mostly we are staying in, getting to know each other, with an afternoon outing for a break. Today we went to Tsum again. Here is a picture from the walk. Sorry it’s blurry, but you get the idea.

If you keep taking shoe pix from the back, people will think you are trying to spot (female) ass....

Any idea on what level Otis "misses" his former environment and caretakers/lovegivers?

I think it's probably just some vague sense of having moved from known to unknown, routine to new routine ... Unsettling nevertheless.

Remarks from DD
AS I remember when we first brought CD home the situation was one of complete madness--we didn't think we ever go back to work--but fear not everything will work out and the little guy will fit in. Hopefully Bruno will come to love Otis quickly and this will help alot.

Ahhh! The joys of parental scedules, unfortunately these plans seem to provide more of an illustration of a philosophical construct than any mere reality I am currently aware of. I must tell you how much I look forward to seeing the three of you, & how happy I am to check this blog on a daily basis. Lots of love from nyc.

My advice is: Don't worry too much about the schedule...or anything, for that matter, as all the patterns and "rules" shift continually. All you really need is an inexhaustible supply of flexibility and patience. Perhaps you could check the Tsum?
