In Which Otis Gets His Passport Picture Taken
With the obvious exceptions of Neil's dad, Amelia, and a couple of others I've met, professional photographers seem an unfriendly, bossy lot. Well, here's one more! The only time he acknowledged our existence was when he noticed my camera is the same as his.
It is, however, an interesting experience getting a baby's passport picture taken. Behind the photographer are David and one of Otis' favorite nurses running around making noises and generally acting goofy so that he will look at the photographer rather than at me. I'm there, along with Zoya (whose butt you can see just barely see sticking out on the right), to make sure he does not topple over.

He is absolutely divine, what a beautiful little face! All the best in the world to you guys!
I'm told that when I had my first passport (at about 5 months old, in 1973) all passport photos taken overseas were supposed to be smiling. Apparently, Americans should always appear happy. My poor parents had to spend two hours with me trying to make me smile in order to be able to get a passport. He looks happy to me!
